Heather Zichal has been our senior advisor since January 2021. Ms. Zichal has, since January 2021, been the Chief Executive Officer of the American Clean Power Association (ACP), a multi-technology renewable energy industry trade group that represents solar, storage, wind and transmission companies. She brings deep experience in energy policy from both the public and private sector. Prior to ACP, from 2019 to 2020, she served as the Executive Director of the Blue Prosperity Coalition, a global network of governments, NGOs, scientists, and ocean experts working to advance sustainable, blue economy goals. She previously served as the Vice President of Corporate Engagement for The Nature Conservancy (TNC), coordinating engagement with multilateral corporations to advance innovative approaches to some of the world’s most complex sustainability challenges, and was a member of the board of directors of Cheniere Energy, Inc. (NYSE American: LNG), a liquefied natural gas company, from 2014 to 2018. In government, Ms. Zichal served from 2009 to 2013 as Deputy Assistant to the President for Energy and Climate Change during the Obama Administration, where she coordinated the administration’s energy and climate policy, as well as the ground-breaking Climate Action Plan. Prior to joining the Obama administration, Ms. Zichal served as Legislative Director to the United States Senate’s leading environmentalist, then-Senator John Kerry,
as well as two Members in the House of Representatives.
Ms. Zichal received a B.S. in Environmental Policy and Science from Rutgers University.
