Dan Leff has spent 30+ years working at the nexus of energy and industrial transformation. Mr. Leff has experience building, leading, investing in and restructuring companies across a range of global sectors, including industrial manufacturing, technology, software and energy services. Mr. Leff is currently serving as executive chairman of Ambri and Sparkfund, and serving as a general partner of Bayard Capital Technologies, a private equity firm invested in ServiceChannel, a facilities management marketplace, where Mr. Leff had served as executive chairman and where he continues to serve as a member of the board of directors. In addition, Mr. Leff is an investor and board member of Arcadia, a clean energy marketplace for consumers, and an investor and board member of Enchanted Rock, a microgrid operating platform company. Mr. Leff is also an advisor to Breakthrough Energy Ventures and G2VP, venture capital and private equity firms involved in the energy transition, and senior operating partner at Broadscale Group.
Previously, Mr. Leff was executive chairman of Viridity Energy and chief executive officer and board member of Hara Software, both energy-focused software firms. Mr. Leff was also formerly an advisory partner at Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, a global private equity firm and previously chief operating officer of Invensys Energy Management and co-chief operating officer of its London-based parent, Invensys plc, a global manufacturing, services, energy management and industrial automation company. Prior to Invensys, Dan served as chairman and chief executive officer of Enron Energy Services, following Enron’s bankruptcy filing, where he worked to help manage the liquidation of Enron’s retail and wholesale businesses.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Leff served in a variety of entrepreneurial and leadership roles focused on integrated energy services. Prior to Enron’s bankruptcy filing, Mr. Leff was chief operating officer of Enron Energy Services, a business unit that provided energy outsourcing and commodity services to commercial and industrial clients. Prior to joining Enron, Mr. Leff was president and chief executive officer of FMES, a nationwide energy services company that he co-founded and sold to Enron Energy Services. Before FMES, Dan was president and chief executive officer of Pilot Energy, a New York City-based energy services company, and earlier, worked for United Technologies Carrier both domestically and internationally.
